Box of Maine has been sending care packages to Maine service members for many years. What started as a small effort has grown into a community-driven mission to give deployed troops a familiar taste of home, especially during the holidays.

Each box is filled with Maine-made products and reminders of home, so our service members know their home state is thinking of them.

Our Goal: 1,000 Care Packages

This year we’re working toward our biggest goal yet: packing and sending 1,000 care packages to deployed Maine service members by November 30, 2026.

We can’t reach 1,000 boxes alone. We’re asking Maine businesses, organizations and individuals to help us make it happen.

Sponsor a Maine Soldier Box

Each Maine Soldier Box is $50 to sponsor. Businesses and individuals can sponsor at any level, and every sponsorship helps us buy, pack and ship more boxes.

Pine Tree Private: $250 sponsors 5 boxes
Downeast Sergeant: $500 sponsors 10 boxes
Dirigo General: $1,000 or more sponsors 20 or more boxes

Shipping to military APO and FPO addresses is free.

3rd Annual Veteran Packout

On Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11, from 9 a.m. to noon, Box of Maine is hosting our Third Annual Veteran Packout. Local veterans and their families will come together to pack care packages for Maine troops serving far from home.

Thank you to Bangor Savings Bank for sponsoring the event, Moe’s Original BBQ for catering, and Tim Hortons for providing coffee and donuts for our veterans.

Members of the media are welcome to cover the packout and talk with participating veterans.
